Amianna Stovall is a partner in the New York office of Constantine Cannon, as well as the Firm’s General Counsel. Ms. Stovall’s practice focuses on the prosecution, defense, and management of complex commercial disputes before the federal and state courts, at both the trial court and appellate levels.  Her litigation experience encompasses a wide spectrum of business relationships and disputes, including breach of contract, fraud, the federal securities laws, financial services, derivative actions, partnership disputes, employment litigation, and professional liability.  Ms. Stovall also has represented clients before the SEC, FINRA, and other federal regulatory bodies, in addition to numerous arbitration forums.

Ms. Stovall has litigated several cases involving commercial and residential mortgage-backed securitizations concerning breaches of representations and warranties, master servicing and servicing standards, loan repurchase obligations, investor due diligence, post-breach mitigation, and a host of other issues related to the securitization of mortgage loans.  She successfully represented an investment bank at trial and in multiple appeals relating to the “put-back” of numerous commercial mortgage loans that were part of a $1.8 billion securitization. She has also successfully represented banking clients in connection with Justice Department investigations relating to mortgage lending practices under state and federal law.

Prior to joining Constantine Cannon, Ms. Stovall was with Dreier LLP. She began her career as a litigation associate with Parker Chapin LLP in New York. Thereafter, she was an associate in Dechert LLP’s New York office where, in addition to her representation of many national clients in securities and complex commercial litigations, she litigated class actions on behalf of Philip Morris.

Ms. Stovall received her J.D. from New York Law School, where she was the Executive Notes and Comments Editor for the New York Law School Law Review. She received a B.A. from New York University, where she majored in Politics and Psychology. Prior to entering law school, Ms. Stovall was a ballet dancer with the Neubert Ballet Company at Carnegie Hall, which performed at various venues throughout New York City.

Ms. Stovall is a member of the Bars of the States of New York and New Jersey, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
