Harrison J. McAvoy

Harrison is a partner in Constantine Cannon’s New York office.  His practice is focused on litigation and counseling, primarily antitrust.  He has experience in all phases of litigation including trial and has substantial experience in antitrust and other complex litigation.

Harrison’s antitrust experience includes the prosecution and defense of claims under the Sherman Act, both Sections 1 and 2, in a variety of industries, including financial services, air travel, and health services.  He has worked on cases in involving claims of monopolization, price fixing, group boycott, and bundled discounts.  His experience includes the litigation of class action claims, and he has extensive experience in all aspects of expert discovery.  Harrison has also litigated cases under federal disabilities law concerning the provision of housing and services to persons with serious mental illness and has represented clients pro bono, including an asylum candidate in immigration court and to obtain veterans benefits.

Prior to joining Constantine Cannon, Harrison was an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York, where he focused on complex litigation involving antitrust, commodities, and securities.  Prior to that, Harrison clerked for the Honorable Michael A. Shipp, United States District Judge for the District of New Jersey.

Harrison graduated cum laude from Rutgers School of Law—Newark, where he was a managing editor of the Rutgers Law Review.  During law school, Harrison interned for the Honorable Stuart Rabner, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of New Jersey, as well as the New York Attorney General’s Office, Antitrust Bureau.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Lehigh University.

Harrison is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, and before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
