DOJ secures $5.15 billion settlement in environmental contamination case – Anadarko Petroleum and its subsidiary Kerr-McGee have agreed to the landmark settlement to resolve claims that they improperly evaded responsibilities to clean-up environmental contamination.  DOJ  

State Department has lost track of $6 billion – The agency issued an alert noting it had found significant lack of internal controls and could not account for over $6 billion in contracting funds.  Washington Post 

CVS sued for hundreds of millions in new whistleblower suit – The suit alleges CVS Pharmacy sought coverage from insurance plans for invalid prescriptions of controlled substances that would inevitably land on the black market.  Courthouse News

Commerce IG directed to fire whistleblower chiefs – The House subcommittee that oversees the Commerce Department directed the agency’s top watchdog to fire his top two whistleblower managers after investigators found they engaged in a “thinly veiled effort to intimidate whistleblowers into not reporting misconduct.”  Washington Post

AR Supreme Court to reconsider Risperdal ruling? – Arkansas AG Dustin McDaniel said he will ask the state Supreme Court to reconsider throwing out the $1.2 billion judgment against Johnson & Johnson over its marketing of Risperdal.   Arkansas News
