Lance Armstrong loses $10M arbitration ruling — Citing “an unparalleled pageant of international perjury, fraud and conspiracy,” an arbitration panel orders Lance Armstrong and former team owner Tailwind Sports Corp. to pay $10 million to Dallas-based SCA Promotions.  ESPN

Hurricane Sandy victims claim damages reports were altered to minimize insurance payouts — NY Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman has begun a criminal inquiry, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which ultimately pays out the claims through the National Flood Insurance Program, is also conducting an inquiry.  NYT

Mysterious death of Liberian whistleblower being investigated — Counselor Michael Allison, former consultant to the National Oil Company of Liberia and reportedly involved in the ongoing investigation of the speaker of the Liberian House of Representatives, was found dead on a Monrovia beach Friday morning.  Voice of America
