Citigroup’s Banamex unit to close after $140 million fine for money laundering — The penalties include $100M by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and $40M by California regulators, the largest penalty ever levied against a bank by the California Department of Business Oversight.  LA Times

Whistleblower says Red Hill leak may be closer to 40,000 gallons — A former fuel systems analyst who worked at the Navy’s Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility for nearly 40 years has come forward with documentation that shows the release of jet fuel may be much higher than originally reported.  KITV
