Feds call Lance Armstrong ‘a doper, dealer and liar’  — The federal government fired off another scathing rebuke against Lance Armstrong late Monday, calling the former cyclist “a doper, dealer, and liar” who abused his position and power to enhance his legacy, status and fortune.  USA Today

Senators urge FTC to examine ad fraud — Democrats Mark Warner of Virginia and Chuck Schumer of New York plan to send a letter asking what steps it is taking to mitigate digital ad fraud, and what can be done “to reform opaque advertising exchanges” and “more closely align the incentives of ad tech companies with publishers, advertisers and consumers.”  WSJ

Johnson Controls settles China corruption case with SEC — Manufacturing company Johnson Controls agreed Monday to pay $14 million to settle Foreign Corrupt Practices Act charges alleging a Chinese subsidiary of the company used “sham” vendors to make $4.9 million in payments to employees of Chinese government-owned shipyards. WSJ

No award for UMass employee who reported theft – A federal judge ruled that a University of Massachusetts Medical School employee who reported another employee’s theft of $3.8 million from the state’s Medicaid program cannot collect a whistleblower award because the school immediately offered to return the money voluntarily.  Reuters

Lawsuit accuses ex-Banco Cruzeiro owners of fraud — Brazilian authorities responsible for winding down Banco Cruzeiro do Sul SA allege in a new lawsuit that the bank’s former owners used fake loans to funnel about $11 million into two Manhattan penthouses and diverted money into other corporations that the two controlled.   WSJ
