Panama Papers whistleblower breaks silence — The whistleblower behind the Panama Papers broke their silence on Friday to explain in detail how the injustices of offshore tax havens drove them to the biggest data leak in history, saying “the Panama Papers show beyond a shadow of a doubt that although shell companies are not illegal, by definition they are used to carry out a wide array of serious crimes.”  The Guardian

Former Ranbaxy owners ordered to pay $385M to Daiichi Sankyo — Daiichi Sankyo had accused the brothers of misrepresenting the problems facing Ranbaxy when it acquired the company and claimed that Ranbaxy hid information about a U.S. investigation that ended in a fine. WSJ

US settles FCA case against TVA contractor Bartlett Holdings — Bartlett was alleged to have violated the FCA by knowingly concealing or knowingly and improperly avoiding an obligation to refund overpayments received from TVA for work performed on the project to complete the construction of Watts Bar Nuclear Plant Unit 2.  DOJ

Former teacher files whistleblower suit against MN school district – A former special education teacher has filed a whistleblower lawsuit against the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School District claiming she lost her job because she reported that she had too many students in her classes, which is a violation of state law.  ABC News

Defunct beauty school settles whistleblower case — Two months after abruptly closing its doors as a result of losing access to federal student financial aid, the for-profit Marinello Schools of Beauty has settled a whistleblower case that accused the school of engaging in various schemes to defraud the government of federal financial aid dollars.  Consumerist
