SEC says financial adviser defrauded pro athletes – Louis Martin Blazer III was charged with taking approximately $2.35 million from clients without permission to invest in movie projects and to make Ponzi-like payments. SEC
Florida grand jury indicts charter school management company – Newpoint Education Partners and three related companies have been charged with fraudulently billing charter schools for hundreds of thousands of dollars for supplies, equipment and services. The proceeds were allegedly laundered through multiple bank accounts to conceal the criminal activity. PNJ
UK’s Pensions Regulator sees jump in whistleblower reports — More than 2500 whistleblower reports were submitted last year and more than 8800 enforcement actions launched.
