Miami Man Pleads Guilty to Multimillion-Dollar Scheme to Defraud Commercial Lenders and U.S. Export-Import Bank – The defendant pled guilty to wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering relating to his scheme to create false invoices and sell them to commercial lenders.  The defendant also used the fake invoices to get loans that ultimately defaulted, causing $11 million dollars in losses to the lenders and the United States. DOJ

Florida Audiologist Sentenced to 94 Months in Prison in Multimillion-Dollar Health Care Fraud and Money Laundering Scheme – The defendant was sentenced for submitting approximately $12,351,046 in false and fraudulent claims to Medicare.  She and her co-conspirators also used forged and falsified documents in the Medicare enrollment process for medical clinics that they operated under false pretenses, billed Medicare for services that had not been rendered by physicians, and paid illegal kickbacks in exchange for access to Medicare patients and Medicare patient information used in the fraud scheme. DOJ

Last Defendant Sentenced in Central Valley Student Aid Fraud and Identity Theft Scheme – The leader of a scheme to defraud the DOE of more than $370,000 in student aid grants and loans was sentenced to prison time and ordered to pay more than $300,000. DOJ
