SEC Charges Six Accountants for Leaking Data to Aid KPMG – “The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced charges against six certified public accountants-including former staffers at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) and former senior officials at KPMG LLP-arising from their participation in a scheme to misappropriate and use confidential information relating to the PCAOB’s planned inspections of KPMG.” SEC

California Urologists Pay Over $1 Million to Settle FCA Case – “Drs. Aytac Apaydin and Stephen Worsham, urologists based in Northern California, will pay $1.085 million to resolve allegations that they submitted and caused the submission of false claims to Medicare for image guided radiation therapy (IGRT) that was referred and billed in violation of the physician self-referral law (commonly known as the “Stark Law”) and the Anti-Kickback Statute.” DOJ

Did the government overpay for hundreds of drugs?
