Announcing the Winners of the Second Constantine Cannon Law School Essay Contest

Posted  December 3, 2021

Earlier this year, Constantine Cannon launched its Second Annual Law School Essay Writing Contest on the importance of whistleblowers.  We wanted to hear from our future leaders of the bar on the importance of whistleblowers and to instill at this early stage of their careers the much-needed recognition of and appreciation for the critical role whistleblowers play in our society.

Well, close to a hundred students from several dozen law schools answered the call, with powerful statements of what whistleblowers mean to them.  Many of these essays detailed very personal experiences with whistleblowing or whistleblowers that touched their lives on a deep and emotional level.  Others offered deep insights into how to better protect whistleblowers and promote the key part they play in making the world a better place for all of us.

We salute each and every student who submitted an essay.  While there were many deserving entries, our essay review team (which included six members of our whistleblower lawyer group) selected the following five winners whose essays we found to best encapsulate the qualities of the typical whistleblower — courage, strength, integrity, selflessness, and a deep concern for public health and safety.

Congratulations to this exceptional group.  We will be posting the winning essays over the next few weeks along with more information on the winners.

Thanks again to all who participated in this year’s contest.  And watch this space for when we launch our Third Annual Contest next year.
