Athanasios Kalliris

Athanasios Kalliris is a European Lawyer, registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority and member of the EU Antitrust Law & Competition Counseling group of the Firm. He is based in our London’s office and his areas of practice include Competition law at European Union level and in the United Kingdom, State aid and EU Public Procurement and Corporate law.

Athanasios has represented leading multinational firms, in a variety of proceedings pending before the European Commission and the national competition authorities of several EU Member States. He regularly advises on both contentious and non-contentious aspects of EU and UK Competition law. His practice focuses primarily on the antitrust developments in the fields of payment systems, financial services and telecommunications.

Prior to joining Constantine Cannon, Athanasios worked for the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission and trained with a top-tier Greek law firm. Athanasios has previously represented the Permanent Mission of Greece to the United Nations at the headquarters of the organization in New York, as well as the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He holds two bachelor’s degrees, in Law and Political Science & Public Administration respectively, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Athens. Athanasios is currently completing a Postgraduate degree in EU Competition Law from King’s College London.

He is fluent in English, Spanish, French and Greek.

In parallel to his professional practice, Athanasios is serving as the case reporter for Greece on behalf of Oxford Competition Law | Oxford University Press (OUP).
