Laurie Frey

Laurie is an associate in Constantine Cannon’s International Arbitration and Commercial Litigation Practices.

Laurie’s practice focuses on international dispute resolution. She acts for clients before the courts and in international arbitration proceedings. Her prior representations have involved a variety of jurisdictions, and she has experience acting for clients across diverse industries.

RECENT REPRESENTATIONS

  • Successful representation of claimant in DIFC-LCIA arbitration concerning a joint venture for the construction of an airport in the UAE.
  • Successful representation of claimant in English High Court proceedings concerning a UK North Sea oil and gas operator’s entitlement to charge joint venture participants for pension fund shortfalls.
  • Advised mobile telecommunications operator regarding potential investment treaty dispute against Central Asian State.
  • Acted for an international LNG trader in a London-seated arbitration concerning a gas sales agreement.
  • Acted for a European biotech company in a London-seated ICC arbitration under a product commercialisation agreement.
  • Advised a Caspian region gas consortium on potential ICSID arbitration over a long-term gas supply agreement.
  • Advised a Middle Eastern bank on potential LCIA arbitration relating to a credit card services joint venture.
  • Acted for a Russian bank in English court proceedings to enforce security over a superyacht.

Laurie studied Art & Archaeology at Princeton University, from which she graduated summa cum laude, and received her JD with highest academic honours (James Kent Scholar) from Columbia Law School.

Prior to joining Constantine Cannon, Laurie was an associate in the London office of Baker Botts. Before that, she practised as an associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen and Katz in New York and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Allyne R. Ross, Senior U.S. District Court Judge for the Eastern District of New York.
