The CFTC filed a civil enforcement action in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Sentry Asset Group, LLC of Boca Raton, Florida, and its owner and manager, John Pakel of Del Ray, Florida, alleging that they engaged in illegal, off-exchange transactions in precious metals with retail customers on a leveraged, margined, or financed basis.  CFTC

The CFTC ordered Anthony Lauria and his company, Gold Coast Bullion, Inc. to pay more than $9.6 million to settle charges of engaging in an illegal, off-exchange precious metals scheme and for committing fraud in connection with those illegal transactions.  CFTC

The CFTC ordered Christopher A. Engel and Pinnacle Forex Group LLC, both of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, jointly to pay a $414,000 civil monetary penalty and restitution totaling $405,378 to defrauded customers for committing fraud and misappropriation in connection with operating a commodity pool that traded leveraged or margined off-exchange foreign currency contracts.  CFTC
