 Canada’s top securities regulator considering proposal to protect and pay corporate whistleblowers — The Ontario Securities Commission’s proposed Framework for an OSC Whistleblower Program, which is inspired by the US whistleblower programs, would cap whistleblower awards at $1.5M.  CBC

 New Report shows “Big Banks” post-crisis legal costs surpasses $300B — The annual study, carried out by the UK-based CCP Research Foundation, “challenges assumptions that banks are through the worst of post-crisis reparations.”  FT

Penn State whistleblower sues university over fraternity abuses — James Vivenzio, a former Pennsylvania State University fraternity member, claims his Kappa Delta Rho brothers subjected him to “extreme hazing” and though he complained to school officials, they did nothing about it.  CNN

St. Paul Archdiocese whistleblower speaks out — Jennifer Haselberger, the former top canon lawyer for the archdiocese who reported on clergy sexual misconduct said recent criminal charges are a step in the right direction to stop future abuse but that the church has shown “absolutely no interest in finding out what went wrong or what we could learn from it.”  MPR
