Olympus settles False Claims Act case for over $600 million – Whistleblower John Slowik alleged that his former employer engaged in a kickback scheme to get doctors and hospitals to use Olympus endoscopes; he will collect $51 million from the settlement as a reward for bringing the lawsuit.  NBC News

Former energy executive indicted on antitrust charges – Aubrey McClendon, the former CEO of Chesapeake Energy Corp., was charged with conspiring to fix the prices of oil and gas leases in Oklahoma.  Wall Street Journal

NYSE whistleblower to receive reward from Securities & Exchange Commission – Eric Hunsader will receive $750,000 for his role in helping to bring a case against the New York Stock Exchange for favoring some traders over others, charges the NYSE settled by paying a $5 million fine.  Reuters

Washington wins False Claims Act case against fraudulent wheelchair dealer – The $2.7 million judgment was based on a finding that Michael Mann, owner of a Seattle area wheelchair company, was billing the government for new wheelchairs but delivering used ones to the poor and disabled instead.  Washington Attorney General
