Whistleblower Insider wants to hear from you on who should be honored as our 2018 Whistleblower of the Year. We are especially interested in those individuals who best encapsulate the qualities of the typical whistleblower — courage, strength, integrity, selflessness and a deep concern for public health and safety. You can choose among the candidates listed below, or identify your own candidate. And please add in the comments section below why your candidate is deserving of the honor. Voting will continue through the end of January with results of your top selections to be announced shortly thereafter. Thanks for voting!

Cambridge Analytica Whistleblower Christopher Wylie — 24-year-old Canadian tech whiz Christopher Wylie created “Steve Bannon’s psychological warfare tool” and then came clean to reveal the destabilizing and destructive force he had created. Learn more about Christopher Wylie.

Child Detention Whistleblowers Dr. Pamela McPherson and Dr. Scott Allen — Department of Homeland Security medical consultants, Drs. Pamela McPherson and Scott Allen, wrote a detailed report to the heads of the U.S. Senate’s Whistleblower Caucus outlining their findings that immigrant children separated from adult family members and held in government facilities are exposed to serious harms, including “a lifetime of increased risk of. . . anxiety, depression, PTSD, and poor physical health.” Learn more about Dr. Pamela McPherson and Dr. Scott Allen.

Church Abuse Whistleblower Siobhan O’Connor — Devout, lifelong Catholic Siobhan O’Connor landed her dream job as the executive assistant to Bishop Richard J.
