Pulitzer Prize goes to newspapers that broke the NSA surveillance story — The Guardian and Washington Post won the Pulitzer Prize for reporting on the NSA’s extensive surveillance programs based on leaks from whistleblower Edward Snowden.  U.S. News & World Report

Hope Cancer Institute pays $2.9M for lying about drugs provided under Medicare – The settlement resolves whistleblower allegations brought under the False Claims Act that the Kansas-based cancer treatment facility billed Medicare for a predetermined amount of cancer drugs at certain dosage levels, when lower dosages of these drugs were actually provided to patients.  DOJ

GSK accused of bribing doctors in Poland – The British drug company which recently faced bribery scandals in China and Iraq is now facing similar charges in Poland, which if proven could breach the UK’s Bribery Act and the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and result in heavy fines.  Guardian
