Animal rights whistleblower named Boulder City Nevada’s employee of the year — The whistleblower reported her boss, then-animal control supervisor, for killing more than 100 adoptable animals. The case was not pursued in court, but the former animal control supervisor left his position and was replaced by the whistleblower, who has since significantly improved animal healthcare and adoptions. Las Vegas Review-Journal

New Mexico teacher receives settlement in retaliation claim — A teacher and union leader who was fired after voicing concerns over class size and curriculum at school board meetings has reached a settlement with the district.
