El Paso behavioral health facility pays $860,000 to resolve FCA case — The University Behavioral Health of El Paso, LLC paid $860,000 under a civil settlement with the DOJ to resolve allegations under the False Claims Act that the hospital paid unlawful remuneration under the Anti-Kickback Act and violated the Stark Law when it improperly paid a physician who made referrals to the hospital pursuant to a personal services agreement. Mead Johnson whistleblower lawsuit claims baby formula packaging defective – Baby formula allegedly vulnerable to spoilage is at the center of a whistleblower lawsuit filed by a former Mead Johnson Nutrition compliance director who claims she was eventually fired after raising concerns about packaging defects. Linda O’Risky, who was a consultant and employee for Mead Johnson for more than 25 years, claims the seals on the 8-ounce product were prone to leaking, making it easier for microorganisms and other contaminants to enter the packaging. Former Rolls-Royce boss questioned in corruption inquiry – Sir John Rose, the former chief executive of Rolls-Royce, has been questioned under caution as part of the Serious Fraud Office’s investigation into a corruption scandal at the engineering group.
