HSBC whistleblower’s email to HMRC uncovered — An email which the whistleblower at the center of an HSBC tax scandal says he sent to HM Revenue and Customs in 2008 has been uncovered by a French newspaper after HMRC said it had no record of the email.  BBC

 Fraud case casts spotlight on Medicare Advantage Plans — Federal prosecutors in Florida are pursuing a criminal case against a South Florida physician affiliated with Humana, Inc., which is believed to be among the first cases to take aim at billing practices of Medicare Advantage plans, for allegedly by claiming his Humana-enrolled patients were sicker than they actually were.  NPR

 Importers agree to pay $3M to settle FCA Suit alleging evaded customs duties — The DOJ announced today that three importers, C.R. Laurence Co. Inc., Southeastern Aluminum Products Inc., and Waterfall Group LLC have agreed to pay $2,300,000, $650,000 and $100,000, respectively, to resolve allegations the companies engaged in schemes to evade customs duties on imports of aluminum extrusions from China.  DOJ
