Veterans launch whistleblower website — Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America joined with the Project on Government Oversight to launch www.VAOversight.org, that allows VA employees to securely contact the two groups if they want to report mistakes or neglect in the department.  Washington Times

Texas Governor Perry faces unusual criminal probe — The investigation stems from a watchdog group’s complaint that the Republican governor violated Texas law by withholding money from a prosecutorial unit because its Democratic district attorney refused to resign after pleading guilty to drunk driving.  WSJ

GM settling charges over failure to recall vehicles for ignition switch problems The $35 million settlement will resolve investigations into the company’s failure to recall vehicles for problems tied to at least 13 deaths that it knew about but delayed acting on for years.  CNNMoney
