First SCOTUS whistleblower case could have broad reach — The Supreme Court will soon have a chance to decide if Robert MacLean, a whistleblower and former air marshal, was treated justly, or at least legally, after he blew the whistle on airline safety, in the first case the high court will hear directly concerning a federal whistleblower.  Washington Post

Whistleblower suit against JPMorgan revived —  A U.S. appeals court ruling revived a lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase & Co filed by a former vice president claiming the bank ignored red flags about a client’s potential fraud, even after the massive Ponzi scheme operated by Bernard Madoff, another JPMorgan client, was exposed.  Reuters

Whistleblower suit alleges Northrop faked GPS system tests – An employee of defense giant Northrop Grumman Inc. claims that the company took risky shortcuts and faked tests of navigational systems made for use in military fighter jets, drones and submarines, selling the GPS systems to the Pentagon without performing a key test to ensure that they properly communicated with satellites.  LA Times
