Novartis to pay $390M to settle kickback claims — The payment will settle US allegations the drugmaker used kickbacks to specialist pharmacies to push sales of Novartis drugs.  FT

Valeant denies Enron-like fraud — More than a dozen senior Valeant executives held a 75-minute conference call aimed at stopping the panic caused by the allegations by short seller Andrew Left and his firm Citron Research of massive fraud, which “have wiped out a stunning $11 billion from Valeant’s market value just in three trading days.”  CNN

Owner of 2 New York Medical clinics pleads guilty to $55M health care fraud scheme — Valentina Kovalienko and others executed a scheme in which patients were paid cash kickbacks to subject themselves to medically unnecessary physical and occupational therapy, diagnostic tests and office visits that not performed by licensed professionals, and for which the clinics billed Medicare and Medicaid.  DOJ
