Rwanda: New Whistleblower Law in the Offing — “[R]evised whistleblower legislation is closer to fruition after a Cabinet meeting last week approved the draft law. . . . The existing law came into force in August 2012, but was found to be lacking in various areas prompting the revision. One of the gaps identified was that the existing law only stated procedures for masking a whistleblower without detailing mechanisms for protection.” All Africa
Wells Fargo board’s investigation finds no pattern of whistleblower retaliation to date — “The independent investigation of Wells Fargo & Co.’s board of directors into the company’s sales practices has found no pattern of retaliation against whistleblowers to date. The board, with help from law firm Shearman & Sterling, released the findings of its investigation Monday.” Charlotte Business Journal
AmTrust Stock Plunges 19% on Report of Whistleblower — “Unbeknownst to coworkers at AmTrust Financial Services, an auditor was secretly taping conversations through a device disguised as a Starbucks gift card, according to a Wall Street Journal report. . . . The auditor, from accounting firm BDO USA LLP, was cooperating as a whistleblower for the Securities and Exchange Commission.” Investopedia
