Kentucky skilled nursing facility settles FCA suit for $5.2M  Oaklawn Health, a 128 bed skilled nursing facility, has settled allegations that it submitted false claims to Medicare. According to the allegations, Oaklawn exaggerated the complexity of treatments it performed, and also performed medically unnecessary services on its patients. USAO Western District of Kentucky

Utah construction companies settle FCA suit for $1.2M  Big-D construction and Creative Times Day School have settled allegations that they violated the terms of a Small Business Administration (SBA) program for small and disadvantaged businesses. The US alleged that Big-D, a large construction company, entered into a leasing agreement with Creative Times, an SBA program participant, where Big-D provided all the personnel and expertise for the performance of various government contracts, and Creative Times only provided the SBA certification necessary to win the contracts. Dow Chemical settles FCA suit for $479K  The company has settled allegations that one of its former subsidiaries, Poly-Carb, Inc., submitted fraudulent materials certifications related to a federally-funded highway resurfacing project. Poly-Carb allegedly falsified certifications that claimed a third-party company performed materials testing, when in fact no testing was ever completed. USAO South Carolina
