SEC Charges Biopharmaceutical Company With Failing to Properly Disclose Perks for Executives – “The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged a biopharmaceutical company with committing a series of accounting controls and disclosure violations, including the failure to properly report as compensation millions of dollars in perks provided to its then-CEO and then-CFO.  According to the SEC, Tennessee-based Provectus lacked sufficient controls surrounding the reporting and disclosure of travel and entertainment expenses submitted by its executives.” SEC

Nevada Doctor Arrested in Federal Opioid Case – “An Elko cardiologist was arrested Tuesday on dozens of charges after a federal grand jury accused him of prescribing medications without a medical purpose for more than three years, according to the Department of Justice.” Las Vegas Review-Journal

Two Managers of Foreclosure Rescue Companies Convicted for Mortgage Fraud Scheme “According to evidence presented at trial, from January 2005 to August 2014, Jamie Matsuba, Thomas Matsuba and others engaged in a scheme to defraud financially distressed homeowners by offering to prevent foreclosure on their properties through short sales. Instead, the conspirators rented out the properties to third parties, did not pay the mortgages on the properties, and submitted false and fraudulent documents to mortgage lenders and servicers to delay foreclosure.” DOJ
