Acquittal of pharmaceutical exec in kickback case shows challenges government faces in holding individuals accountable for corporate wrongdoing – The former president of Warner Chilcott’s pharmaceutical unit was accused of instructing sales reps to wine and dine doctors and to pay them bogus “fees” to induce them to prescribe the company’s drugs. Calculating the fraud in higher education – As part of a proposal to write new rules on debt relief for deceived or defrauded student borrowers, the Education Dept. came up with an estimate.
