Offshore detention center psychologist fired after revealing “demoralizing” and “desperate” conditions – Paul Stevenson’s contract to provide counselling services to refugees at Australia’s offshore detention centers was cancelled after he went public with allegations that conditions in the system are an “atrocity.”  The Guardian

Over 8 years of prison for tax fraudster – Charles Parker Jr. of College Park, Maryland, received the sentence after being convicted of conspiring to defraud the government of more than $7 million in fraudulent tax refunds.  DOJ

Illegal precious metals scheme busted – A Florida man and his three companies have been ordered to pay over $2.4 million in disgorgement and penalties for engaging in an off-exchange precious metals scheme.  CFTC
