Connecticut medical practice settles FCA suit for $650K — World Health Clinicians, its CEO, and a former employee have settled allegations that they billed Medicare and Medicaid for services that were never provided. According to the allegations, the company billed for services provided by a massage therapist as if they were provided by a physician providing physical therapy services. USAO Connecticut
Estate of Pennsylvania doctor settles FCA suit for $625K — The estate of Dr. Leroy Pelicci has settled allegations that Dr. Pelicci submitted numerous improper claims for payment to the Department of Labor Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs under the Federal Employees Compensation Act and the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program for trigger point injections, which were upcoded to receive a higher reimbursement amount than permitted. Drilling companies settle FCA suit for $130K — Two companies have settled allegations that they failed to pay money owed to the Department of the Interior’s Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR) for natural gas produced from a federal lease located in New Mexico. The settlement resolves claims by the United States that the companies failed to report any production or pay any of its royalty obligation to the United States for gas produced from the Mesa Diablo lease.
