Ex-Uber Engineer Asks Supreme Court to Learn From Her Ordeal — The female former engineer at Uber Technologies Inc. whose blog post about sexual harassment helped drive Travis Kalanick out of his job is now urging the U.S. Supreme Court to help employees combat toxic workplaces.  Susan Fowler asked the justices to consider her debacle while deciding how far employers can go to prevent disgruntled workers from banding together to sue over their work conditions.  Fowler ignited an uproar inside the company and throughout the tech industry with her accusations that her former manager had propositioned her for sex and that Uber’s human resources department told her it wouldn’t punish him because he was a top performer. Ex-Virginia LB Merrill Robertson convicted in $10M fraud scheme — A former Virginia football player has been convicted of running a $10 million fraud scheme that victimized more than 50 investors. A federal jury convicted 36-year-old Merrill Robertson of Chesterfield on 15 fraud-related counts. Prosecutors say Robertson used contacts in the football world to solicit investors over a seven-year period beginning in 2009. Supposedly sophisticated investments were little more than a frozen-yogurt franchise and other restaurant ventures. Prosecutors said Robertson used much of the investors’ money on personal living expenses. ESPN
