Jamie Dimon Says He Regrets Calling Bitcoin a Fraud – J.P. Morgan Chase Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon is backpedaling a bit on his earlier criticisms on cryptocurrencies. In September, Dimon called bitcoin a fraud. “I regret making” that comment, he said Tuesday on Fox Business. “The blockchain is real,” Dimon added in the interview. “You can have cryptodollars in yen and stuff like that. ICOs…you got to look at every one individually. The bitcoin was always to me what the governments are going to feel about bitcoin when it gets really big. And I just have a different opinion than other people.” CNBC 

SEC’s burgeoning cyber unit taking securities fraud by storm – The Securities and Exchange Commission is now up against a growing amount of digital securities fraud. In September, the agency even created a new cyber unit as part of the enforcement division to tackle the issue, the unit chief said. Rob Cohen, who has been with the SEC for 13 years, told Federal Drive with Tom Temin that it didn’t take long for his team to show positive results. The team is made up of about 30 people scattered throughout the national SEC offices, and either have expertise in cyber-trading and detecting fraud or want to develop it. Cohen said the team is staffed with internal hires only, many also from the Market Abuse unit. Federal News Radio
