Kansas chiropractor settles FCA suit for $1M – Kansas chiropractor Brian Schnitta settled allegations he submitted false claims to Medicare based on medically-unnecessary chiropractic treatments he claimed were used to treat peripheral neuropathy. Maine dentist settles FCA suit for $90k – Maine dentist Joseph Griffin settled allegations he charged MaineCare for services he never performed. Griffin allegedly submitted claims totaling $164,972 to MaineCare for dental services that either were not rendered or were not medically necessary. The settlement reflects Griffin’s inability to repay the entire amount of the damages, due to his retirement from the practice of dentistry. Bangor Daily News

North Carolina pathology lab settles FCA suit for $601k – Piedmont Pathology settled allegations it submitted claims to Medicaid and Medicare for medically unnecessary tests.
